Our Approach

Recovery is sequential. Not random.

We assess before we treat. We treat in a structured arc. We design maintenance to hold what you've built. This is how clinical recovery is supposed to work.

When a client comes to ACUPOINTS, they are not handed a menu of services and asked to choose. They begin with a conversation. That conversation becomes an assessment. The assessment becomes a plan.

This is the foundation of everything we do. Without a clear picture of what a person's body is communicating — its patterns, its history, its current state — any treatment is guesswork. We do not guess.

The Three Phases

01

Assessment

Every new client begins with a comprehensive intake — we listen to their history, examine their current presentation, and document what we find. This is not a fifteen-minute intake form. It is a thorough conversation between a practitioner and a person.

What we are looking for: primary complaint, contributing factors, history, relevant lifestyle context, and signs that might indicate an underlying pattern the client has not yet connected to their presenting issue.

The outcome of the initial consultation is a written recovery plan. The client leaves knowing what we found, what we are going to do about it, and why.

02

Treatment

Treatment plans are built around the recovery arc, not individual sessions. A session does not exist in isolation — it exists in sequence. What happens in week two is informed by week one. What is planned for week four depends on what week three revealed.

Where relevant, we combine modalities across a program. Clinical acupuncture and therapeutic bodywork work differently on the body, but they address the same underlying dysfunction from different angles. Combining them — in the right sequence — produces results that neither achieves alone.

Practitioners share notes. The left hand knows what the right hand is doing. This is what integration actually means.

03

Maintenance

Recovery is not a destination. The patterns that created the original problem — postural habits, stress responses, sleep disruptions, compensatory movement — do not disappear because the pain did. Without maintenance, most people gradually return to where they started.

We design maintenance schedules as part of every program outcome. The frequency is realistic: usually monthly or fortnightly, depending on the individual and the nature of their work. The goal is to stay ahead of the pattern, not to permanently depend on the clinic.

A client who completes a program and maintains effectively is a client whose life has genuinely changed. That is the outcome we work toward.

What Makes This Different

Approach What You Get
Spa massage Temporary relief that fades in hours. No assessment. No plan. No continuity.
Isolated physiotherapy Treats the site of pain, not the systemic pattern producing it.
Traditional TCM clinic Clinically grounded, but often siloed — acupuncture without integration into the wider picture.
ACUPOINTS Integrated treatment across modalities, sequenced for cumulative results. Assessment first. Progress tracked. Maintenance designed.

Your recovery starts with a conversation.

Book your initial consultation and your practitioner will build a clear plan from there.
